Ryan Townsend is an experienced music instructor who has been teaching for the past 15 years. He gives lessons in music performance, theory, and composition. He is specialized in guitar, piano, and voice, and also gives lessons on the following instruments as well: drums, bass, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, harmonica, and saxophone.
Ryan first began his musical career as a drummer in elementary school. As an early teen he began to pursue the guitar and music studies more intensely, while developing a strong interest for listening, playing, and performing. Over the years he has learned a number of different instruments and has also developed a strong vocal range.
He first began to give music lessons while completing a BFA in Arts Management at Long Island University. His passion for music, proficiency, and patience have yielded a long lasting career, which has encompassed hundreds of students.
He is currently one of the co-owners and main instructors at R&R Music School in Congers, New York. R&R provides music instruction and education for all major instruments to preschoolers, children, teens, and adults. Private lessons are offered one-on-one and in groups settings.
Online lessons are also available via Skype or FaceTime.
